Things I Wonder as a Mom…

For this blog post I have compiled a list of some of my Mommy Wonderings, and want to share them with you.  Maybe we can wonder these things together…

  1. Why is it that everyone cannot get sick at the same time in a household?  It takes weeks for an illness to make its way through our house.  First our three year old gets sick, and then after battling nights without sleep when she is finally on the rebound, one of the other girls get sick.  Not to mention if my husband catches whatever the girls get- nothing is worse than a man cold…
  2. Do kids know when you ABSOLUTELY 100% need to be at work on time, and if so, why are those the days where your infant has a blowout diaper right after you lay her in her carseat so not only do you need to give her a quick bath, but also figure out how to clean the carseat in five minutes or less…
  3. How quickly do toddler taste buds change? It seems like I finally find something she will eat and then POOF! It is now terribly disgusting, and just the thought of eating it for dinner puts her over the edge.
  4. Why is it children do not care if mommy has to go to the bathroom and would like those two minutes to herself.  I sneak away from everything for a moment of peace and quiet just to use the toilet and as I shut the door I hear my three year old yell, “Mommy, where are you!?!?!” And without a moment’s hesitation my hubs says, “I think Mommy went to the bathroom.”  As if on cue, two young girls come busting through the bathroom door because they missed me for the one minute I was out of their sight, and begin to ask the the parade of questions going through their minds.  So much for privacy…
  5. Why do moms judge other moms? We are all in this parenting journey together.  I will let you in on a secret- NO ONE KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT THEY ARE DOING! We are all trying to parent the best we can, and there is no one way to do that.  Instead of passing judgements on another mom’s parenting style, we should be taking the time to build each other up.  C’mon moms, every single one of us has thought at one point in time that there wasn’t enough coffee in the world to deal with the day.  Momming is HARD! Support one another.
  6. I wouldn’t trade any of the messes, craziness, sleepless nights, or migraines for the world.  Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done, but the moment your child smiles at you in the morning, it makes all of it worth it.

Thank you for reading this blog post! If you are a parent out there, know that you are ROCKING this parenting thing.  You Go MAMA!!!

  1. My husband ALWAYS rats me out when I go to the bathroom! It must be a man thing! 😂 They don’t know what it’s like because no one ever follows them into the bathroom! Haha! I’m also a huge believer in moms supporting moms, there is too much shaming going on and not enough love and understanding!
